Wienke studied State and Administrative Law and International and European Law at the University of Groningen and the University of Western Ontario, Canada. During her studies she completed an internship at the Center for Human Rights and Environment in Argentina, where she studied the relationship between human rights and the state of the environment and access to environmental information. She started her career in law in 2005.
Since 2010, she has been working at AKD where she is part of the Government & Enterprise Practice Group. There it deals with environmental law in the broad sense and environmental and nature protection law in particular. Wienke assists governments, companies, individuals and non-profit institutions. Wienke regularly advises and litigates in the context of procedures under the General Environmental Law Provisions Act and the Environmental Management Act and related regulations (e.g. Environmental permits) and planning procedures (e.g. destination and integration plans). Her specialization is located in nature conservation law. In this context, it frequently deals with licensing and exemption routes and enforcement issues under the Nature Protection Act 1998 and the Flora and fauna Act. It also deals with nitrogen-related issues.
In 2010 Wienke successfully completed the VMA/Grotius specialisation programme Spatial Planning and Environmental Law.
She also publishes and teaches regularly on subjects from her practice and is a member of the Association for Environmental Law.
Wienke studeerde Staats- en Bestuursrecht en Internationaal en Europees recht aan de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen en de University of Western Ontario, Canada. Gedurende haar studie vervulde zij een stage bij het Center for Human Rights and Environment in Argentinië, alwaar zij zich verdiepte in de relatie tussen mensenrechten en de staat van het milieu en toegang tot milieu-informatie. Haar loopbaan in de advocatuur startte zij in 2005.
Sinds 2010 is zij werkzaam bij AKD waar zij deel uitmaakt van de praktijkgroep Overheid & Onderneming. Daar houdt zij zich bezig met het omgevingsrecht in brede zin en het milieu- en natuurbeschermingsrecht in het bijzonder. Wienke staat zowel overheden, bedrijven, particulieren als instellingen uit de non-profit sector bij. Wienke adviseert en procedeert regelmatig in het kader van procedures op grond van de Wet algemene bepalingen omgevingsrecht en de Wet milieubeheer en daarop gebaseerde regelgeving (o.a. omgevingsvergunningen) en planologische procedures (o.a. bestemmings- en inpassingsplannen). Haar specialisatie is gelegen in het natuurbeschermingsrecht. In dat kader houdt zij zich veelvuldig bezig met vergunning- en ontheffingtrajecten en handhavingkwesties op grond van de Natuurbeschermingswet 1998 en de Flora- en faunawet. Ook houdt zij zich bezig met stikstofgerelateerde vraagstukken.
In 2010 rondde Wienke de VMA/Grotius specialisatieopleiding Ruimtelijke Ordenings- en Milieurecht succesvol af.
Zij publiceert en doceert voorts regelmatig over onderwerpen uit haar praktijk en is lid van de Vereniging voor Milieurecht.
