Erik Vermeulen specialises in banking and securities law. He has a lot of experience with acquisition financing and syndicated loans. In addition, he exercises the securities law (supervisory regulations and issuances of bonds) and the (bank) procedural law.
He has represented clients in several major national and international transactions. Among other things, he advised ABN AMRO, Deutsche Bank, Dexia, Fortis, GE Commercial Finance, ING, Rabobank and the Royal Bank of Scotland.
In 1990 Erik graduated in business econometrics from Erasmus University Rotterdam, where he completed his law degree in 1992 and obtained his PhD in economics in 1994.
In 1995 he joined NautaDutilh, where he became a partner in 2003. Erik is a member of the Association for Securities Law and the Committees E (banking) and Q (securities) of the International Bar Association. He regularly provides courses in the field of finance and security and is the author of numerous economic and legal publications. In 2006 he published the book Financing of Acquisitions.
Erik Vermeulen is gespecialiseerd in bank- en effectenrecht. Hij heeft veel ervaring met acquisitiefinancieringen en gesyndiceerde leningen. Daarnaast beoefent hij het effectenrecht (toezichtregelgeving en uitgiftes van obligaties) en het (bank)procesrecht.
Hij heeft cliënten vertegenwoordigd in verschillende nationale en internationale grote transacties. Daarbij heeft hij onder andere ABN AMRO, Deutsche Bank, Dexia, Fortis, GE Commercial Finance, ING, Rabobank en de Royal Bank of Scotland geadviseerd.
In 1990 studeerde Erik af in bedrijfseconometrie aan de Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam, waar hij in 1992 zijn studie rechten voltooide en in 1994 promoveerde in de economische wetenschappen.
In 1995 trad hij in dienst bij NautaDutilh, waar hij in 2003 partner werd. Erik is lid van de Vereniging voor Effectenrecht en de Committees E (banking) en Q (securities) van de International Bar Association. Hij geeft regelmatig cursussen op het gebied van financiering en zekerheden en is auteur van tal van economische en juridische publicaties. In 2006 heeft hij het boek Financiering van Overnames gepubliceerd.
