RxLaw was built on a simple but powerful premise: those who understand the realities of healthcare are best positioned to defend and advocate for those within it. As the founder of RxLaw, Aly combines a pharmacist’s insight with extensive legal and prosecutorial expertise to deliver strategic, results-driven counsel to healthcare professionals facing complex regulatory challenges.
Prior to founding the firm, Aly honed his skills at Canada’s leading boutique litigation firms, where he steered healthcare providers through high-stakes disciplinary hearings and influenced key policy reforms that have reshaped regulatory landscapes and practices.
He clerked at the Supreme Court of Canada following an LL.M. from the University of Cambridge, and holds a JD-BCL and MBA from McGill University alongside an Hon.BSc.Phm from the University of Toronto, a combination that grounds his legal work in a working knowledge of clinical practice.
Aly’s practice for healthcare professionals spans regulatory investigations and audits, disciplinary proceedings, HPARB and judicial reviews, and strategic policy consulting. His engagements include matters such as OCP v Sivapalan , ICCRC v Ebid , and Dentalcorp Health Services Ltd. et al v Arsalan Poorsina et al. , along with the resolution of multiple complex matters before the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
Alongside his practice, Aly writes and speaks on the ethics and regulation of health professions, with articles in the Journal of Medical Regulation and Canadian Healthcare Network exploring topics from corporatization in health professions to the regulatory response to climate change.
