About

Preston is part of Cohen Highley’s Multi-Residential Housing group. Born and raised in London ON, Preston graduated from Western University in 2003, moved to Toronto and pursued a career in the entertainment industry which afforded him many opportunities to indulge his passion for travel. After 15 years of success in his first profession, Preston began his second act by moving back to London and becoming a licensed paralegal in 2020.

In his own words, Preston was compelled to practice law because, “being able to help people who need help, making sure those who have been unfairly treated, become whole” is his primary source of fulfillment, especially when it comes to small-scale, or independent, landlords. He prides himself on his ability to connect on a meaningful level with people from all walks of life. Preston says his greatest skill as a paralegal is communicating effectively: making complicated matters easier to understand.

After working in his own private practice for a few years, Preston was drawn to Cohen Highley because of Cohen Highley’s excellent reputation; specifically, the work done in affordable housing, and the culture of collegiality within the firm.

Outside of his profession, Preston has achieved many successes in athletics, as both a varsity track athlete (All Canadian, Team Captain) and varsity football player at Western University, and in the martial arts- as an avid practitioner of jiu jitsu and judo.

In his personal life, Preston is most passionate about his partner, their full house of cats and dogs, sports, true crime documentaries, and cars.
