About

Sancia Pinto is a Lawyer, Adjudicator, Mediator and Co-Founder of Pinto Shekib LLP. Recognized as a strong and strategic advocate, she maintains a broad civil litigation practice encompassing employment law; wills, estates and trusts disputes; real estate disputes; business disputes; insurance-related litigation; and commercial litigation.

Her litigation experience spans a wide spectrum of cases, from complex estates disputes, business disputes, wrongful dismissals to catastrophic injury and fatality claims, and she has secured millions of dollars in compensation for her clients.

Alongside her litigation practice, Sancia maintains an active mediation and arbitration practice. As a certified Mediator, she received her negotiation and mediation training at the Harvard Negotiation Institute at Harvard Law School, and as a certified Adjudicator, she completed the Advanced Certificate in Adjudication through the Society of Ontario Adjudicators and Regulators (SOAR) and Osgoode Professional Development.

Sancia has served as a Mediator and Adjudicator with Tribunals Ontario, including at the Licence Appeal Tribunal, where she has conducted thousands of mediations and issued decisions in complex disputes between injured accident victims and insurers. She has also served as a Mediator and Adjudicator with the Condominium Authority Tribunal, an appointed Hearings Officer with York Region, and Chair of the City of Toronto’s Administrative Penalty Tribunal, where she adjudicated parking, red light camera and automated speed offences. In her role as a Hearings Officer with the Ministry of the Attorney General’s Court Services Division (Superior Court), she has conducted numerous mediations and quasi-judicial hearings involving solicitor-client assessments and party-and-party costs.

Beyond the courtroom, Sancia is committed to mentoring the next generation of legal professionals, serving as a mentor and subject matter assessor with Toronto Metropolitan University’s (formerly Ryerson University) Law Practice Program (LPP), where she provides practical legal training and guidance to aspiring lawyers.
