Miriam Vale Peters is one of the firm’s partners and is an experienced trial and appellate lawyer. She maintains a broad general litigation practice, including contractual and insurance disputes, real estate, employment and estate litigation, including guardianship applications, power of attorney disputes and Will challenges.
Miriam frequently represents individuals and businesses at all levels of court in Ontario, including the Supreme Court of Canada. She strives to find the most efficient, cost-effective and practical solution to every dispute, no matter how complicated or contentious.
In addition to her legal practice, Miriam has served on several volunteer boards. This experience has given her a practical understanding of governance, organizational decision-making and the challenges that arise when competing interests must be balanced and difficult issues resolved. These perspectives complement her litigation practice, where she helps clients navigate complex disputes with a focus on practical outcomes.
Before relocating to Ottawa, Miriam practised with a full-service law firm in Vancouver and a boutique litigation firm in Toronto.
